I want to upgrade my PC this is what I have, what would you do? (nothing silly I'm not made of money £500-700 realistically)

932 HAF case
OCZ i3 Clarkdale 2.93 overclocked to 4.00
Gigabyte GA-H55M Intel motherboard
4GB ram

1 x ocz 60GB ssd agility 2
2 x 1TB Samsung F3's
Corsair H50 water cooler
ATI 5770 1GB graphics card
1 x Samsung BluRay drive
1 x LG BluRay re-writer drive
800W stealth extreme PSU

I think that is all of it.

In my opinion, another 2 GB stick of ram and a processor upgrade.

Possibly a new graphics card also but the ram and processor would take priority if it was me.

keep the cooler, case, PSU, SSD, HDD, DVD and blu ray for sure theres very little reason to upgrade these

dont bother adding another stick of ram, your motherboard only has dual channel and i suspect PrChaos thought your motherboard supported triple channel.

what do you use your PC for?

The biggest upgrade would be a quad core CPU and a new graphics card.

If you want to keep your current motherboard, then you can pick up a second-hand i5 750 or 760 quad core for ~£100, if you buy new then you are looking at more like £140.

Alternatively, you could sell on both the i3 CPU and H55 motherboard and upgrade to the even faster, newer sandy bridge platform. A motherboard like this and this CPU would be great (you can reuse your H50 cooler with this kit as well).

May I ask what make and model number RAM you are using. Since it is DDR3 it should run at the rated 1.55V at 1333MHz on a sandy bridge system.

As for a new graphics card, I would suggest something like this.

May I ask what make and model number monitor you are using?

I want to get into the best games a PC has to offer(Battlefield 3, Crysis 2) as I have only played CM, FM, C&C, Shogun and those sort of games

something like this would be a massive upgrade:

will you need some thermal paste for your cooler, and do you have the socket 1156/1155 mounting stuff for it?

Like reaper said, 2500K, good P67 / Z68 board, 570. Or if you really want something flash...

Although I bet a quad-core 1156, and a graphics card would do, you might as well go the whole hog.

Power supply good enough for single card (It's similar to a 480 GTX in terms of power consumption). You can sell the rest and save money for a XFX 850W Black if you want a new PSU.
