How would you use these parts to make a pair of well matched LAN PC's?

In acme's chair.
I have:

C2D E8200
Athlon II 250
4GB 1066MHz DDR3
4GB 1333MHz DDR3
Radeon HD5770
Radeon HD4890 Black Edition.

Just wondering if it would matter how i split them.

Cheers all and Merry Christmas! :D

wouldn't really matter either way, one will just be faster, for me id pair up all the best stuff in one, and do it like that, no reason tbh, but why hamper them both with a mix and match etc

My personal view; one will always be superior!

I should also say that the C2D's motherboard does not allow for overclocking, whereas I think the Athlon's one does.

The op should be ok to overclock the E8200, unless its a real rubbish board but the op has not mentioned the board.

The board is fairly crap, I tried to overclock and got absolutely nowhere even with settings that *would* work if the board were any good for overclocking. The general consensus when I asked about overclocking on it was that I shouldn't bother.

It is a Gigabyte GA-P41T-D3 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3512&dl=1#ov

The other board is an Asus M4A78LT-M http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A78LTM/

My other option would be to just sell everything but:

Asus M4A78LT-M
4GB 1333MHz DDR3
Case (Antec 300)
PSU (OCZ CoreXstream 500W)
HDD (250GB Barracuda)

And buy a Phenom II X4 and a better GPU with the money I get.

But I would rather have three systems for Borderlands/Borderlands 2 LAN in my house cos a couple of my best mates and I are complete Borderlands fanatics :D
