How you 'paste' a directory into Finder?

One thing I used to do in Windows was copy and paste a directory into an 'open file' dialogue to navigate straight to that folder.

Does anyone know how you do the equivalent in OSX?

i.e. if I right click on a file and copy the path from 'where' how do I open a few finder window that goes straight to that path.

Right click Finder, New Finder Window? Then copy it into where you want it.

Top menu Go > Go to Folder or press: Shift+⌘+G
