I probably shouldnt post right now as im under the afluence of inchohol :p
Heck im 32 tomorow so what the hell.

Anyway onto the reason im posting this post.

Are there still people like me with 3Ghz++ OC'd 6300's.?
Ive had mine for nearly a year now and am well impressed, granted i need more ram (like another 2gb) and new grx card (8800gts maybe.?) but hey a 6300 at 3ghz + 1GB ram + 7600GT = NFSC @ playable framerates :)

Are 6300's really that old hat nowadays.???

had mine last october and still very happy with it. Might go quad next year but for now my e6300 is all i need. Happy birthday for tomorrow anyway ;)

Jeez 32, add another 10! HB anyway.
My 6300 is still going strong, though I'm running it at 2.6Ghz these days.
I don't notice the difference much in games cos my monitor is a 1680x1050 job, but the 2Gb RAM and 512Mb ATI 1900XT helps.
I will u/g to the quad core when they plumb it in price and my 6300 will turn in two a media PC :)

Ive had my e6300 and ds4 since last August, but still havnt looked into OCing it, a bit scared as its my primary computer and dont want to bodge something.
But its fast as is but still tempted by prices of e6600....silly prices

Mine's at 3.4Ghz and is plenty fast enough for my needs, next upgrade will be to a quad core I think, but not until they come down in price again.

Didn't realise id had mine for nearly 10 months, oh how time flies lol.

Got mine at 3.5Ghz at the moment, but was only able to up it to that speed in the past 3 or so months when I was able to afford a new motherboard and ram. So it feels quite new to me lol. I wont be planning on upgrading mine any time soon, next thing on the horizon will be a new GFX card. Should be getting that in about 3 weeks or so. tbh, not sure why I'm getting it, I'm joining the army in Mid-late September lol, won't be able to use the blasted computer for about 3 1/2 months

but anyways, to answer the original post, yes, I'm still using my 6300 :D

Happy birthday!

See my sig, though it was most weird, I had to increase the RAM freq. to get it up to 3.28ghz, but I could play games and run nucleareus and superpi at 3.64ghz, but on browsing internet it would usually lock up.

at 1.38 to 1.41875v MSI P6N unlinked FSB & MEM

On my MSI 975X it would only reach 2.6GHz at any voltage or divider

3.7ghz or so orthos stable @ ~ 1.4v. 4.2ghz under phase change (not cpu limit)
Currently running 2.8ghz on ~ 1.1v stock cooled. <3 this 6300

Had mine since september/october and it's never gone above 2.1Ghz on my old Asrock motherboard until I finally got a working P5N-E this week. Now it's up at 3.15. Haven't tried pushing it further. Got it on 1.475V which is making it quite hot. Going to see how far I can push it then lower the voltage as far as I can.

tbh I'm extremely happy with how easy it was to overclock :D

Blimey I'm late onto the E6300 bandwagon. I've been using an E6300 for the best of 9 days so far :D

Bought it used and it's an L629B stepping. Using it alongside 1GB Geil PC2-6400 and a DFI LanParty ICFX3200T2R/G. I've had it up to 3.15GHz stable at 1.28V but the motherboard isn't liking much higher without more northbridge volts (already at 1.53V from 1.2V).

For 24/7 use it's sat at 2.80GHz with 1.1V. Frequency wise it's no more than the Opteron 165 it replaced but it's still a touch quicker and at that core voltage it is running nearly 20*c cooler than the Opteron did :D

Very happy with it but want a CPU with a higher multiplier to go further. Unfortunately I fear I won't find a CPU that compares to this L629B, so I'm keeping hold of it.

Happy Birthday By The Way :)

My E6300 has been with me since December, and is doing rather well! Clocked at 3.25 at the moment, nice and stable at 1.4volts (to much? meh, seems fine!) Keeps up with my mates 6600 at 3.2...as it would i suppose!
