How's my 3570K looking?

Hi,

I've just put together a new system and would appreciate some comments on my cpu temperatures.

I've got a Fractal R3 case, AX650 psu, A50 cooler, Z77X-D3H, 8GB Vengeance, 128GB M4 SSD, and the 3570K. No graphics card yet (I have a MSI 7850 on backorder). I'm just using the two fans that came with the case, but plan on adding a second front intake and a top rear exhaust soon to improve airflow.

The bios is F5. I haven't upgraded it yet.

I've only tried doing some basic overclocking, increasing the multiplier, disabling turbo, but leaving everything else on auto. This has given me a stable 4.2Ghz, but at 4.4 it becomes unstable and Prime95 crashes after a minute or two. I suspect I'll need to add some vcore if I want to go any higher.

Idle temps are about 22 degrees (ambient is 19C).

Anyway, the temps after 30 minutes of Prime95 running FFT are below. Any comments?

I'd just like a bit of reassurance that this looks OK (or not!) before I start thinking about messing around with vcore. I'm not sure about the amount of thermal paste I put on the cooler...

Cheers.

I've got the same CPU, ram and motherboard coming this week so I will be keeping an eye on your thread :-)

Looks great :D should be able to get a bit more out of that chip temperature wise, to me if my chip gets to 75 degrees during prime, thats my limit but ofc thats personal preference as the chips are fine to 100-105

More Vcore is likely what you'll need if you are going higher.

Thanks for checking those temperatures.

I tried upping the vcore a little to 1.2 but the machine failed to get past the bios flash screen - was a battery removal job.

Think I'll leave it at 4.2 for now, until I can spend some time doing things properly. Need to read up on vcore/llc etc before I screw it up again :o
