Apologies for the fact that this is about my third thread on the subject (in over a month), but I thought I was going to be coming into money much sooner than I actually was. However, now I am 100% sure that I will be able to buy all of these parts on the 18th, and therefore, all of the current OCUK weekly special offers will be relevant to this build.

So... I currently already have 2 Sapphire HD 5850s which I bought a couple of weeks ago, and I was thinking about these for the other parts...

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor [BX80623I52500K]- £167.99

Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** - £137.99

OCZ Special OPS 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (OCZ3SOE1600LV4GK) [OCZ3SOE1600LV4GK] - £35.99

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) [WD5000AAKX] - £29.99

Sony DVD-ROM 18X SATA DDU1681S-0B (Black) - OEM [DDU1681S-0B] - £13.99

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1155/ 1156 / 1366) - £17.99

Coolermaster CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black [RC-692-KKN3] - £62.99

XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular Power Supply [P1-650X-NLG9] - £76.99

TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless-N PCI Adapter (TL-WN851N) [TL-WN851N] - £19.99

Total: £563.90

Will the cooling/mobo be good enough for a 4.5ghz overclock? I've never overclocked before and don't want to ruin my new build!

Obviously if there's anything glaringly wrong/anything that can be vastly improved with this then please tell me before I spend a lot of money on something that won't work! ;)

Thanks

i dont see anything wrong with the build mate, looks good.
all i would suggest is, that instead of getting the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Cooler. i would stretch the extra £6 for the Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler.
just becuase then for the extra £6 you are garunteed a cool and reliable CPU cooler and also judging from the reveiws, it's a cracking cooler even with handling i7's.

+1 from reaper 392, would definatly go for the liteon DVD RW for £1 for a x42 even if ur converting/burning at a low speed.
looks fab mate,
+ don't forget to take pictures and share xD!
GOODLUCK!

Thanks, I'll take those suggestions on board. :)

I can only hope now that the AMD Bulldozer's don't come out in a few months and blow my Sandybridge out of the water. :p

Just about to place an order, so this is definitely a good build yes, and the PSU is going to be okay?

Not that I don't trust the above people, I just wanna make sure my first build is okay and doesn't blow up ;)

It's spot on. Overclock that CPU and it will be a super fast machine.

Looks good, not sure how much HDD space you need but you can get a 1TB Seagate for £12 more. Might be worth the extra pennies, totals the build at a nice round £600.

Looks spot on imo. Only change I would make is to get the 1TB Samsung F3 as they are really good value at the moment.

I probably came off a bit snippy there, was'nt meant to be. Yeah i've owned Seagate since i got into computers, never had a problem. Maxtor on the other hand....well, need i say any more.

Ive had a few tp link cards befor and i wouldnt get one not very good at all. If u can just use an ethernet cable

Agree with this, tried to use one for my sisters build, it wouldnt connect to the BT home hub, using a cable instead and its much better.

looks like a decent build but like the others have said stick to etherent i had a bad expericnec with one of them cards aswell
