Hey everyone :p

Was on BT before, and getting 1.9mbit ( 200kB/s ) max download speed.
Just switched to o2 8mbit package, due to switch over on the 23rd.
Anyone here used o2 at all? I hope I get something a bit faster than what I have on BT.
I'm 2.62km from my exchange, it supports LLU, ADSL2+, everything has a green tick next to it on SamKnows :D

Its good. Synching at ~16mb.

Hardly anything to complain about (although I would like fast path ).

I've been with O2 LLU up to 8mb for over a year now. It's been down a couple of times, but their communication was great.

Internet went off ~1am one morning. I go to bed, go to work next morning at 6am, ~9am they send me a text, which read similer to: "It appears your internet is down, we are working on the problem as fast as possible"

I then got home at 2:15pm to find that my internet is back up and working as it should be. Then ~ 4pm they send me a message saying it's all fixed.

The second time, there was advanced warning. Sent me a text message on a monday/tuesday telling me my internet might be down/slow from saturday-sunday due to some work being done somewhere. The internet seemed fine, it didn't go down and wasn't any slower.

I sync at ~6500kbps download and ~ 1100kbps upload.

As you've already got an ADSL service in place you can take the stats from your modem/router and estimate the speeds you'll get on an ADSL2+ service like O2's. There's info in the broadband sticky.

I did the switch and am very happy I did so. went from 74ms ping and 4.5mb to 22ms ping and 15mb. Great communication from them, hassle free migration.

Sounds like o2 are better than Be :/ which confuses me as they are the same system but possibly cheaper and sometimes with a marginally tighter fair usage policy. I guess it all depends on the area but I know when our line goes down (and other people nearby also on Be) nothing is said about it.

Getting that result, so hopefully I get the full 8mbit.

Please point me to the tighter fup.

Bes base price is higher (well it's not subbed by mobiles) but includes a static ip and most people who've been with then more than a year have hinted at leaving and been dropped to or below the o2 base price :)

When planned work is carried out the same texts are sent out. When some workmen or vandals but a line (like last week) there's always a forum post with more detailed info on the usergroup - and it usually effect poor entanet too. Imagine putting your cables in the same place :p

O2 isn't "better", it's aimed at the less technically savvy customer. Mind you, considering the amount of data we can shift on Be without without complaint I don't grudge afew extra pounds for a year.
