Why are you skimping a couple of quid on OEMs when you're spending well over a grand ?

Buy full retail .... get your warranty .... get a decent night's sleep

Its going to be an all rounder really but wanted to future proof as much as i can while i have the money, would like the option to go SLI or Crossfire at some point.

Will be overclocking for sure

Go for the Hero board it's great and put the cash difference towards a larger ssd like a Samsung 250gb EVO model.

id save like £100 on the motherboard and put it towards a gpu if gaming is your aim! maybe cut down storage to 2tb also.

Yeah I must admit the Maximus looks way OTT.... The stripped down Hero seems like a good alternative.

Im trying to scale down on the case size a bit as the lian li sitting here is just too big.

Case is generally a personal choice thing, those parts will fit fine in many ATX cases.
