So i wouldn't normally post about this and would search but i just can't seem to find any information on this!

Firstly, i'm a web/software developer and computer science student. I use a macbook pro 13" as my main machine. I want to get rid of the 17" lcd i use as my external monitor.

I really like the fact my lcd on the mac is glossy. The only glossy screen that i have found is the HP 2310i or 2210i, which i also love the look of as it matches my macbook. I want the highest resolution for the size and to maintain a pixel pitch of .26ish at highest. So 1920x1080 at 23" or 21.5" are the only real options.

However there are absolutely NO reviews of the HP monitors. I have no idea why this is. I know it's not LED backlit, it's a TN panel, but it is a glossy screen, looks good and well is cheap (though for bad reasons?).

I don't know if i should just go and buy it, but without even hearing anything (good or bad) about it i'm not so sure. There would be no point in buying any other TN panel (i only like this one because of aesthetics). Or should i try get a non-TN panel (will i really notice?) and is there really anything decent for <£200?

You could try getting a Dell U2311H which is ~£260 but is an e-IPS panel. Whilst it's not Glossy it'll look pretty good next to your Mac and has the added benefit of a Display Port on it, meaning you can just get a mini Display Port -> Display Port cable for your Mac.

I'm looking at that Monitor now for use with my Macbook Pro and Desktop.

You can find a good review Here. Hope this helps.

Would i really notice the difference in such a screen for web development?

I was offered a DELL 3007WFP for £330 (which i know is a bargain) but just turned it out. I'd have to buy an additional mini dipslay port to dvi dual link adapter (£99) and even then i think 30 inch might be just a bit too large. I'd love the resolution and size for movies but it'd take up my whole desk.

So no reviews on the HP 2310i?
