And I just want to say wow... sat with one of the online calibration tools for 15 minutes and the increased colour depth and quality of the image has blown me away compared ot my old OCuk Value/DGM 24". The colours actually look more like colour than a grayish shade of colour and they just pop out at you.

Far far less noticeable ghosting too.

GIG 068 Firmware for anyone who is curious.

its a qaulity panel i had 2 of them! just sold one hoping to sell this one to IM going for a 30"! the HP 30" is a current contender for my new monitor too!:D

Hey Sin_Chase, where did you get the monitor from? was it HP?
I just ordered one today off the HP site, (sorry overclockers:confused:) found a E-voucher on the web which knocked £40 off, didn't think the code would work:D
Did you need to use any of the colour profiles kicking about to sort the colours out or did the calibrator do it all?

Simon!

I used the colour profile/driver from the CD. Mine is from OCUK.

The online calibrator is a set of instructions/images you follow to help you use the menu system to setup the monitor.

Ah right, will have to try that when i get mine, can you post the link to the site with the calibrator tools on it please?
Only reason i got it from HP was because of all this firmware business (and the £40 off:)), just thought i had more chance of getting the latest firmware from them, hope I'm right:eek:
Glad you got the GIG 068 that's the good one i think, well, I haven't heard of any problems with that firmware, yet!
Should get mine tomorrow i hope, might have to ask for your help with the settings if/when i get stuck:D

Simon!

I've had 3 off these over the last few months, each one being faulty, the first 2 had faults in the firmware GIG045 and the 3rd had greenish/pinkish tints, so send it back for refund and bought myself another NEC 24WMGX3 which will arrive hopefully today.

I have one too and i love it. You did the right thing by calibrating it as the colours are a bit in your face when you first turn it on.

I read about a lot of faults in the big official thread and was a little concerned.

I had a single flash of green/pink tint when I scrolled my Process list in Task manager but it was while it was doing some Monitor Scanning on the HP Display Software, not seen it once since.

The bug with the Power LED Off option not sticking between power cycles occurred once, but did not do it this morning.

I count myself lucky I guess, or perhaps it was all ironed out in the 068 FW.

My 3rd monitor had the GIG068 firmware and the Menu options had no bugs in it, i.e., the Bezel power LED not saving was fixed etc.. the green/pink tints were not in the first 2 monitors (with GIG045 firmware). I suppose by the laws of average I was bound to get one that was free form faults sooner or later, but must admit I got a bit fed up of sending them back and dealing with HP, so this time have taken refund and got a 2nd NEC 24WMGX3 which I have been very pleased with from day 1 of getting it.

Glad you've got one that you're happy with.
