HP 4100 paper feed issues
I hope some could help me, I have a Hp 4100 laser jet but its just not feeding the paper like normal, it give me 13.1 error paper jam but if I lay the sheet of paper on top of the tray it feeds fine it just when its in the ray under the clips.

The printer worked fine but recently started playing up, I don't know if its just the new paper or something else.

Can someone help i've tried the above but it did not work, I put up with it for a year but I still cant get it to work, i've been feeding the single page from the manual feed tray but It become annoying when you have a few pages to do, its just to picking or feeding the paper, I don't know what could be wrong.

If I was to replace it, what would you recommend ? I just want something cheap and good like this one. need to be a laser.
I assumed you had already cleaned all the pickup rollers?

Take the paper tray out, tip printer on it’s back and go to town with IPA on all the rollers.

This is quite an old model now and maybe does need the whole pickup assembly replacing but IPA to clean the rollers and cleaning any optical sensors with compressed air can work :)
No i only cleaned up the blue rollers, does it have any optical sensors ?
Also you can find the service manual for these easy enough online but need to have some knowledge to work on them.

If the above doesn’t work I would probably grab a Brother machine to replace it.

HP never actually made their own machines by the way… it was Canon ;)

Should anyone care…
Ive used both cannon and brother before I ended up getting this HP for Home as I had used it at work and it was cheap, I never knew it was made by cannon, but to be honest the old office laser printers I found to be a much better then the new cheap stuff. I just found this manual https://archive.org/details/printermanual-hp-laserjet-4100-service-manual/mode/2up just having a look to see how to download it.
