hey all, i got a problem with a blade server system. i have 3 blades BL460c quad core xeons in a c7000 chassis. the problem i get is that the blades dont get network access. they have the network icons showing network cable unplugged on all 3 of them. however the c7000 management engine shows that an ip address has been assigned to the management controller and to all 3 blades via dhcp and the ip addresses can be pinged without issues. anyone have a clue as to why the blades show network cable unplugged on the network connections?

OS is windows server 2008 r2 x64.

thanks

the blades themselves have broadcom netxtreme gigabit lan adapters in them. correct drivers are installed. im wondering if i need some iLO app installed on the blades to setup the networking?

You may have hit a bug with the latest broadcom drivers. They need to be installed twice, so try installing the driver package again and your NICs might start working again.

I've had this issue with a few of our BL460c's.

By connecting to the onboard administrator module you should be able to see all connections within the c7000 chassis regardless of drivers. All iLo's of the blades, the interconnect modules etc are viewable from this single point of access. Are you using a mezzanine card on the 460 for additional NIC's or just the 2 within the blade? BTW, there is also a front mounted Insight for additional diagnostics.
Oops, sorry ignore me - I have just re-read your post :)
