Hi there,

I'm playing around with this HP Printer and in the set up this thing is not taking the ink cartrideges at all. The msg on the screen simply says use introductory carts shipped with your printer. Well there wasn't any in the box so seperate HP carts were bought for it and it's not liking them!!!

Any ideas for a way around this??? Please help - I've never been defeated by printer before :(

If there were none in the box then return the printer to the place you got it from. HP Printers are extraordinarily complex and you may have to use the initial cartridges for calibration or some other wierd and wonderful reason. I bought an HP all-in-one and it came with a sticker to put over the power button. I didn't bother with the sticker and it just wouldn't work. It turns out the sticker has a smart-tag installed that tells the printer what language/country code you are in for warranty purposes. This is to stop grey imports apparently, but it really would drive you insane.

Just send it back.
