HP updated their website and made a real mess. Broke every link on the internet to their websites.

They also have now made all enterprise downloads sign up only. Which means to download a new ilo firmware i have to login with hp passport.

Why do companies do this sort of thing. It actually makes me hate HP and will probably always suggest avoiding them. I tend to have none stop problems with HP the last few years.

Any else have similar problems?

Well at least this might mean they'll stop hosting downloads on a 56k modem, used to be that once you'd managed to find you download (no easy task) you'd then have to watch it downloading at single figure speeds before giving up and buying something by Dell or IBM.

This insistance of putting everyhing behind a contract agreement is bloody annoying though, especially for stuff that's in warranty.

I can't even find where to download new ilo firmware.

I just keep going in circles. I have a passport account and now i am looking for a ilo firmware, no where to be found.

It was always very bad and difficult to find anything but now its way worse.

Not only are all the google links broken to the hp website but new hp websites are useless.

They have divided up enterprise in to a new website and that entire website is useless.

I agree it's annoying and can't really see what they have to gain - I don't see how it reduces the sales of refurb/used servers, as those that have the knowledge to buy servers generally have the knowledge to find the HP Service Pack elsewhere.

Have never had any problems with the actual hardware though.

I can't even find where to download new ilo firmware.

ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib2/software1/cd-generic/p67859018

is where the HP Service Pack for Proliant is - should contain firmware

Quick Offtopic: Any quick way of identifying whether I have iLO Advanced licenses on a dozen DL360G5s / Dl380G6s without rebooting them? Never used iLO before, but something cropped up today and thought I would check.

I'm guessing based on that statement, you don't know the IP?

Never set them up/reset then and never used iLO on them (haven't even got plugged network cables in to iLO at present). Was just a case of if they have got advanced licenses (for the remote console) might be worth using, if they haven't then I'm not too worried.

If they were left on DHCP, you could try plugging in a cable and see what IP was assigned.

Hmm, i thought on the old proliant servers we were able to pull some info from the iLO module, but i can't seem to find what i'm after.

And no probs, not sure which gen you're after, but the prior page had a full list.

And FWIW, the internal pages are all screwed up as well :P, so not just the external site.
