HP Envy Equivalent - I Give Up!?

After almost two years I've given up with HP's support. I bought a HP Envy 17 in October 2010 and it's run hotter than the sun ever since - the left side of the keyboard is often so hot the machine is almost unusable, and the best advice from HP was to vacuum the machine once a month...

Anyway, aside from that issue, the Envy (when not turning off due to heat build up or breaking the battery - no idea how) has been brilliant. I'm now looking for a replacement and wondered what is currently in vogue. I'm looking for a laptop with I7 chip, 17" 1080p screen with 8gb memory, SSD a plus - Win7 based. All recommendations gratefully received!

The SONY VAIO SVE1711X1EB 17.3" might suit you except for one thing, it doesn't come with an SSD.

Intel® Core™ i7-3612QM Processor 2.10 GHz (3.10 GHz with TurboBoost),
8GB DDR3,
AMD Radeon™ HD 7650M 2GB dedicated memory,
1920x1080 17.3" screen,
750GB HDD but its only 5400rpm and a bunch of other stuff.

Looking for a new laptop myself but it turns out I am EXTREMELY particular when it comes to looks. Opted to go for an older model HP Envy 14 Beats Edition. Now to find a place that stocks it... :p

I know just what you mean about the Envy 17. I had one, the left side got so hot the plastic split from the aluminum casing...There is no fan control options....ridiculous how they can sell such a product.
