Hi all,

I've had this monitor for the better part of 4yrs now, and it has been the best £400 i've spent on a monitor so far. Until now.

In certain games, the screen will have a ripple/flicker effect which sometimes you do not notice. When you do notice it, however, it is all you see (reminds me of a strip light flickering at around 20-25fps ~ verge of human eye detection.

It is connected via DVI-D and i've tried all other outputs and different cables, and, image quality aside, the issue remains.

The technician in me wants to adjust the frequency, but this monitor maxes out at 60Hz and cannot be increased past this.

I figure that the monitor's backlight may be dying or the monitor itself may have past it's shelf life.

Any further ideas before I scratch an itch for a new monitor(s)?

Does it defintly not have warranty?

Hp have been amazing with me.

My HP L2475w started to get lines down the screen, almost cloudy, a very common issue with the early batch models. I had it for about 3 years, and its 1 year with OCUK. So I rang them up, and the next day they sent me a brand new one.

The one I got replaced with was brand new Septemeber 2011(this was around that time), but, it had a lot of backlight bleed. So I rang them, the next day they sent me another one.

Although it didn't have a lot of backlight bleed, the model was a refurb, as it was made in 2009. So I rang them again and guess what, the next day they sent me a brand new one, with very little backlight bleed.

Nothing short but amazing service from HP. O, and they have extended the warranty for another 3 years, for free.

I'm sure there is something they can do for you.

Best of luck.

Are you going through to business foo? It took me an hour to get through to the right department.

Make sure you ring the business dept up, as its classed as a business monitor. I think that is why I got such good service.
