HP laptop keeps dropping wireless connection

I bought a brand new HP DV5 1110EM laptop about 4 weks ago and all began fine with wifi, however, the last few days, it keeps dropping connection every 2 - 3 minutes at some times then not at all at other times, i'm currently experiencing drops every 2 minutes with it at a time when, annoyingly, i'm trying to list items on ebay. It keeps going from Access: local and internet to 'you are not currently connected to any networks'.

Router is a linksys WRT54G.

Are any other wireless devices on the network having this issue?

If yes, then possibly the router is failing, or there could be a new wifi access point from a neighbour that is causing interference with yours?

Have you installed any new drivers/software lately that could be causing issues - consider whether windows update has sneaked something in without you knowing it!

it's not the laptop, even my wired connection keeps failing, looks like new router time
