I've been tasked with fixing a HP laptop for one of my mums friends. Apparently it booted up with a "corrupted file" message. (Which I personally haven't seen). What happens is it boots to the HP logo and then restarts over and over.
I've set it to booting from USB and tried using Ubuntu without installing. But it just goes to a blank screen after running the scripts that should start Ubuntu. I made a Hirens USB but it won't even boot into that, but the USB is definitely bootable/working.
BIOS is accesible. HPs diagnostic tools passes both the RAM and HDD fine. Which leads me to believe a possible bootstrap issue?
