a friend of mine has got laptop person who she got it says the screen does not light the laptop still works u can see a dull picture which it has got vista on it ave ad look at the laptop its correct wot me friend had said so , does any body know wot wrong with the laptop

From your brief description, I would guess the inverter has gone. It's fairly cheap to replace and can be done with some patience yourself. Worst case scenario you could need a new screen due to backlight failure or similar, but it's more usually the inverter. Sometimes it can be as simple as a poor connection between the inverter and backlight though.

If the above is true, an external monitor should output normally.
 
the series of the laptop is HP 6735s i have connected to the VGA cable to me desk top screen and it works so wot can it be but the laptop screen is dull wot kinfd of part will it need
 
as alex says, check the check the connections to the inverter, you can do this by removing the screen bezel, screws are hidden behind little rubber squares or might be round, ease the bezel off by pulling it towards you from the edge of the screen and go around the edge with a thin credit card type piece of plastic, reseat the cables going into the small circuit board under the screen this is the inverter, if this doesnt work replace the inverter should be able to get one from the bay, if this doesnt fix it then its probably new screen time.
