is there a list? has anyone tried to sneak a slightly higher power cpu in ?

If you want to give it more grunt without the Xeon tag. the I3 3220 and the I5 3470T both confirmed as working.

Depends which model. The AMD models have soldered cpus but the newer Intel I think you can.

The Xeons are overpriced and being scalped on the bay unfortunately. The 1220L and 1265L especially.

That 3470T looks interesting though, was planning on the 3220 but the G1610T has been holding up well so haven't bothered.

The 3220 I've got in mine is happy running 4 2012R2 boxes.

The only time they get 'slow' is installing windows updates, but I've gotten around that by using GPO's for different install times in the early morning.

It's a good little upgrade tbh.

I have a I3-2100 in mine, 65W cpu's are fine.
