Hi guys, hope you can help. Fairly recently bout a HP Microserver from these forums with 8Gb Ram and a load of disks. Ideal one thought, I will use that as an ESXi server!

I’ve used it about half a dozen times since I’ve had it (exactly one month), and now it seems FUBAR.

Remove all the drives, usb devices, the lot. From cold it will POST, I can go into BIOS and I can browse happily, temperatures seem fair – CPU hits about 45c.
Leave it another 10+ minutes (still in Bios) screen will cut out, reboot the machine and its lifeless. Power on, power off, Blue HP light never comes on, though the exhaust fan seems to be running etc.

If the blue light is on, and i power it down after a hang. the blue light may stay on, even when the device is off?

Have tried a CMOS reset and re-flashing the bios. Both were successful with their implementation, though no improvements.

What else can I do? I’m pretty sure I have exhausted my investigation on this, am totally gutted. Ideas please?

May not be relevant but have you tried it on a single stick of RAM in different slots? Or tried running memtest?

If you have removed all the drives and connections etc it only really leaves the PSU, CPU and Mobo...
