Ordered a HP Mini Note to see what it was like.

It is the slowest machine ever, and pretty warm.

I can't believe they install Vista on it, it arrived at 1pm today and its still running through the set-up process!

Real shame as its an awesome case and keyboard.

Oooh I have a Windows Vista experience index of 1.7!

I had a go of one of these alongside a couple of different eepc models. I found the HPs keyboard was very good, it was built very solidly, and the sound quality was actually suprisingly good for a laptop of it's size, but yep, pointless as it was so slow it was practically unusable. Logging in from a domain account took a full 4-5mins, and a good 60-90secs from a local account. Loading Word took a good 40secs-1min. I didn't get much beyond that as it was so slow as to be useless for anyone but the Laptop Bling Brigade, and they'd usually buy a Vaio or MacBook.
To put it in perspective, the HP with Vista on it 'felt' slower than an eepc 701 with XP shoehorned on. And the HP is about 4x more expensive :) A useless, if sturdy, machine.
