HP Moaning about fan?

Ok, this got me beat.
I got hold of a basic Ryzen PC off my son. I have upgraded it, new case, Mobo, added RAM, and then a new CPU, and its now a fully different PC, but I now have his old bits that are now back into his original case. The ONLY thing that is different, is that it had 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, and it now has an SSD and a HD and a fresh install of Win10.

The thing is, that ok, I have reset the BIOS, but it now moans about a fan not working.
So, I added a fan to the case, its a 90mm one. It still moans, and what I do see is that the CPU fan is 4 pin and the case fan is 3
So, I swap them over for giggles and it does whine about the 3 pin one.

I suppose I can cure it by plopping a 4 pin fan in there, and so I did do that with another CPU fan, but I dont have any spare fans that are 4 pin.

The thing is, that this case never did have any case fan, just the CPU one, but it never moaned about the fan before, only since I reset the BIOS, and there is no way that I can find, that it will STFU about the cooling... The issue being is that every time it starts up, or resets, the message comes up and if I dont press ENTER, it wil shut down. This is a real pain because it takes ages to boot up!

Anyone have any thoughts on thi, other than buying a 4 pin fan just to shut it up?

The PC is a HP Pavilion Desktop 590-p0xxx

System Board IS is 8433
BIOS is 8433 vF.59
BIOS Date is 04/17/23 ( Obviously thats US date )
 
does it tell you which fan it's moaning about?

If its during start up, it should tell you.. best guess like what @mickyflinn mentioned, i reckon its the CPU fan. You can either connect a fan to the CPU header.. or to turn off the warning through the BIOS
 
Yes, I have been through the BIOS, itys a very very basioc BIOS but there is nothing that I am able to do to alter the message?

And yes, it does tell me.

As I said in the original Post, the Chasis fan I put to it, has 3 pinds and it moans about the Chasis fan, and when I swappewd the fans over, it moaned about the CPU Fan.

So, it does not recognise a 3 pin fan only a 4 pin one.

Of course this also applies if there is no fan as it never had one previously.

For what its worth, I have found another 4 pin fan, and that has stopped the messages, but the fan is noisy as hell and so I dont want to use it, I would rather it just shutup about the fan.

I have been onto the HP Website and the ONLY thing for this very PC taht they have, is BIOS v.41 and as thats older, it wont let me reflash with that BIOS.

Just fancied trying a different one as it might let me get at some setting thats not in the one in it???
 
No, the fan itself was wrecked... The bearings were iffy and if spinning slower, it still made a noise, just bully rather than raspy if you get my thoughrts?

For what it is worth, I have found another fan and that is quiet and so the thing is all sorted.

I just have not had the chance to update things as I have been busy.

What bugged me, was thet there never was a case fan in the first placebut now it needs one, and that is annoying as heck.
