I picked up an N40L yesterday with the intention of using OpenMediaVault to operate as a media NAS and downloader.

I followed a guide and got it all installed and working last night though my file transfers to the server were slower than expected but I figured I could look into that this evening.

However I switched the server on this evening and couldn't log into the Webif despite definitely using the correct user name and password.

I tried everything I could think of but was having no luck so I thought I'd try again.

I formatted the hardrive I was using for OMV and tried to install again, I initially got an error while it was trying to in GRUB but it gave the option to try again which I did and it seemed to go ok. However, upon rebooting I could see a string of errors going up the page on the monitor I have hooked up to the server for setting up, and I have no idea what it all means. I did manage to get logged into OMV and have downloaded the syslog which I've uploaded it to my google drive:

Can anyone help me work out whats going on and what the problem might be?

Thanks

Hmmm, there's was only one disk in there when it was throwing up all those errors...

I did a bit of googling (though it was getting late and I was tired) and did see some mention of people having issues with grub trying to install to the USB stick rather than the drive that had been selected but most seemed to say that the machine wouldn't then boot without the usb stick in. Mine did boot and start OMV but also threw up loads of errors.
