Hi, hope someone can help, as title really.

Installed w10 from USB drive, all ok, Problem now is getting the touchpad working. It recognises a standard mouse, which shows up in device manager, but there's a bunch of unknown devices in device manager. I guess the touchpad is amongst these.

I've downloaded the appropriate synaptics touch pad driver from hp, installed it but nothing... Any ideas?
I've tried fn and function keys but I think it's just not recognising the touchpad hardware..

Model is Model is HP stream 11-d007na

Thanks

Go to the synaptics website and try getting the download from there? (also make sure you uninstall the previous driver and clean up any registry files). http://www.synaptics.com/resources#drivers

Also sometimes I find many older laptops the drivers for w10 don't work so I just try the win7 one for non important stuff like touchpad/card readers etc and they usually work tbh (can also try setting the exe file to run in "win 7 compatibility mode or admin mode" to test if that's what is stopping it

Sometimes things don't install properly if not run as admin and if there are antivirus software running on your machine.

It's also possible you could have turned the switch off for the touchpad (try the fn key and something that looks like a touchpad on your f keys if you have one?). But from the unknown devices above you probably have the wrong driver/failed install.
