Hi all,

Looking for a new monitor to replace the aging DGM IPS 24" 1920 x 1200 screen I bought here as a B-grade many years ago, possibly 8 or more.

Screen still working fine, however I use it a lot for work which often involves very large spreadsheets, or working betwen multiple spreadsheets so looking for a little more screen area.

Have tried using laptop as a dual screen, or even with a apre 1920x1080 along side but I can't get into dual screens and when I have multiple apps open, often 20 or more, find it hard to keep track of where everything is.

I fancy a screen update to a larger single, HP seems reasonably priced and at 32" offers simiar DPI to my current screen.

Have considered a ultrawide at this size but not sure my laptop, thinkpad 440s with I5-4300u will support the ultrawide res (has display port) and the cost leaps up significanly for a wider screen.

Also game very occasionally, rocking a 4.4Ghz 2600k and GTX680 so likely will upgrade at least the GPU later down the line. Having played the orignal Doom a long time ago, quite happy on lowish settings these days.

Any other monitors worth considering

Cheers AD

just bought the Omen 32 from HP , i went from a Dell u3011 ips monitor, All i can say is wow im impressed. cant believe the quality of it, no problems.

Im running a 980ti on it, i hooked it up to my GF RX470 and if im a little bit honest id say the colours pop more on the AMD, the Nvidia looks a little bit washed out, I played with a few settings in the Nvidia control panal and it looks ok now, turned the digital vibrance up a wee bit.

I ran it at 75hz on the 980ti didnt notice any frame skipping but that was wow and diablo. not really into fps games

Id say get one mate its a awesome monitor. Ill see if i can upload my photo of it but it dont do it justice.

Pulled the trigger yesterday and it arrived today.

Just getting used to the massive size, though spreadsheets and some of the SAP application I use are great with more screen area.

Need to have a proper play with the settings and connect up my main PC as well, since currently on the work laptop.

Thanks
