HP P4 3ghz overclocking?

I have an 800fsb 3.0ghz as a 3rd machine - temps are 50 deg cidle to mid 60s under load with an XP120 heatsink (which isn't great I admit). To get decent temps for overclock on oneof these I'd suggest Watercooling as the only way to go, though someone else might be able to suggest a decent air cooler for it. Good luck with that!

IF (and with Dell/IBM/HP it's a big if) you can bump up the voltage and the FSB and you either have PC4000 or better RAM or the ability to put a divider on the RAM then most 3GHz P4s (E0s especially) are good for 250MHz FSB which means a straight 3.75GHz overclock on air (I like the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro) and the best will do over 4GHz on water cooling.

thanks for the replies guys, but ive put in my opty instead as it seems to work better and quieter with a si120.

just looking for a new quiet psu and graphics (agp) card, any suggetions?

They're good PSUs and quiet too, just not quite as quiet as the Seasonic

You shouldn't need anything like 580W for an HTPC so I'd go for a lower wattage PSU, like 350W and go for the quietest one for the money

EDIT: Yep, the Seasonic 430W would be the better choice
