i have the above laptop, but from day one ive found it rather slow and laggy.

even playin on the most basic of games, it really laggs like hell, no idea why, ive been looking at settings and drivers etc, but i cant find anything that stands out.

any one have any ideas? even on the daft games that you can play on the internet, VERY basic 2D game, it starts lagging after a few min.

basic spec of the laptop for those that dont know is..

# Processor: AMD Turion X2 mobile processor RM-72 / 2.1 GHz ( Dual-Core )
# Cache Memory: 1 MB - L2 Cache
# RAM: 4 GB (installed) / 8 GB (max) - DDR2 SDRAM ( 2 x 2 GB )
# Hard Drive: 250 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 rpm
# Display: 15.4" TFT 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) - BrightView
# Graphics Controller: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 - 256 MB

any advice please as its really stressing me out!

Is the cpu throttling down at all use throttle watch , I've heard the heatsinks can fail on these is there a good flow of hot air flowing out the exhaust or is it only cool when running something which loads the cpu?

Ok well try installing Throttle watch and run a burn in program like Orthos and see if the cpu throttles down, if it doesnt that would indicate the cooling system is working as it should.

Also get the latest bios from HP website for your model and take it from there.
