HP Pavilion DV5 1111EA whats wrong with it??? so stressed!

ive got the above laptop, but so far im seriously disapointed wiht it, games seem blocky and glitchy, ive just bought a swann CCTV usb2 DVR recorder to monitor cctv and record etc, it wont even run that properly, the live playback from the camera crashes constantly!

VERY disapointed with thins, just paid £80.00 for this DVR as well


any one got any ideas what could be wrong with this?

what graphics card has it got?

Try HWMonitor to check the temps are ok. Also, what version of windows is it running, vista 32 bit, vista 64 bit or win xp?

Is the DVR stuff compatible with Vista 32/64 ?

the laptop is on vista 32 bit
camera software fully compatible

i believe it has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 Graphics card

Have you tried updating the drivers from the HP website or using the HP update utility? As most of your problems sound like they're graphics related (games 'glitchy', whatever that means ) and video camera software I'd personally look at the graphics drivers first

For a start I would do a clean install, HP consumer grade machines come with a boatload of crap preinstalled, not as bad as Sony or Toshiba but up there with Dell. Then you will have a nice clean starting point, you will also know exactly which drivers are used etc.
