So i'd just like to know what is the difference between the 9430 and the 9440?

All i can see is (besides the model number) that they have ditched -

Lightscribe Super Multi DVD Writer (+/-R +/-RW) with Double Layer support

And decided to give you -

Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer

Anyone know of any other differences? I'm sure the 9440 is just a replacement for the 9430 and they are both priced the same.

The laptops sound like the dogs danglies with 3gb ram and dual core 2.1ghz with 8800M GTS graphics, 20" screen and tv tuner.

Need opinions, work are paying for it, but i want something decent :D

Thanks,

Andy

these are very impractical as a laptop, they are huge and weigh a ton, i guess there fine if you need to take it to a mates or to and from work but i wouldnt recommend one as a "laptop"

I bought a 9430EA a few weeks ago after my Dell died, wanted Blueray but i wasnt prepared to pay an extra £150 for it (9340EA cost me £950).
As its my only PC/laptop and is used as a DTR i'm not worried about its size or weight, it lives on the kitchen table 99% of the time...it is very heavy though!
Good thing about its size is that it runs ultra cool, i can use it on my knees no problems, its barely warm to touch, unreal really.

All in all an awesome "laptop", the screen was supposed to be a WSXGA but when it came its an WUXGA which was a free suprise upgrade! Even the box still says WSXGA!
I believe this is due to parts supply and the fact this laptop is due to be replaced very soon with an 18" 16:9 version (the 20" is 16:10). Excellent screen though. :)
