A silent release of the Pre 3...surely HP must realise that aggressive marketing is one of the critical factors to get people buying?

Anyway, seems like a great phone, bigger screen + bigger res, easier to use keyboard but still the same OS from the Pre 2. There don't seem to be any pre-released reviews for it yet so lets see what the reviewers have to say.

Can buy it sim free for £299 on the Palm Eurostore. Anybody planning on buying it?

I'd like to try one but £300 is a bit much for something that is going to be a guaranteed long term failure :(

I simply don't understand why HP aren't marketing it though, whether it's great or not you can sell it with decent marketing.

Maybe orange will do some marketing as they will be doing the phone this year, id like to try one, but if its as lacking as the pre, then it will flop, they need more developer support to make it work.

This phone is outrageously late IMO. I know they didn't announce a release date previously but the fact they showed it off in February you would have expected it to have been out before now, or at least an announcement from HP that it would be out around August-ish. Also I agree with Robbo that this announcement is very low key, tad ridiculous for something that was meant to be their flagship.

Overall though I do like webOS and I think I would like the Pre 3 because I thought the Pre 2 was also a nice phone. Ignoring the fact that I don't seem to get on well with hardware keyboards :p. If I hadn't of just bought an SGSII I would probably be tempted.

I'd be really interested to see a webOS phone without a keyboard a la BlackBerry Torch 9860.

I agree, it is late for what it is. I'm quite surprised none of the big tech sites have done a review of the phone yet. I'm eagerly awaiting to see how it is and whether it is just the same old formula.

The price is a bit too steep - £299, yet you could buy a SGSII with a 12 month contract for approx £420 a few weeks ago.

With the touchpad on offer, has anyone seen any deals for the Pre 3? I've been refreshing pages, the HP site etc. Not found anything as of yet :(

Wondering if I should pre order it from an online electronic retailer known for sim free phones?

It does say no charge and will check prior to dispatch if you want to go ahead?
