HP Pre 3 released

Are you actually a judge? It is their job to interpret laws.

If you are acutally a judge then fair play.

I, personally, don't see the difference between protecting other businesses versus protecting consumers from identical kinds of abuses.

Americanbrian, they dropped the price and included a tarrif after you bought them. That's life, it happens, get over it. Unlike the touchpad situation, you were never told you would be refunded the difference / given the extra services and so you bought the phones AT RISK on a whim. I wouldnt say anybody is at fault for that, but you are certainly in the wrong to expect any refunds or free gifts from CPW. they owe you nothing.

Actually I was told at first WHEN buying them that they normally give you 30 days in which if they reduce the price you will be refunded.

They did exactly this with the touchpads that were bought full price.

I do deserve a refund of the difference and you sir, are a tool.

That page is all about anti-competitive behaviour. The people that work at OFT are economists.

Note the sections.

Anti-competitive agreements

Cartels

Abuse of a dominant market position

One way, price discrimination can result in anti-competitive behaviour is where a dominant supplier can drive someone out of business or punish them for also using alternative suppliers.

Learn what OFT actually do.

http://www.oft.gov.uk/about-the-oft/what/

The OFT's mission is to make markets work well for consumers. Markets work well when businesses are in open, fair and vigorous competition with each other for the consumer's custom. Our job is to make sure that consumers have as much choice as possible across all the different sectors of the marketplace. When consumers have choice they have genuine and enduring power.

It is all about having efficient markets and thus benefiting consumers.

They didnt tell you they would throw a free tariff in as well did they? You can't compare a sim-free price with a contract price, they are two different products priced in two different ways.

Congratulations, I've already mentioned that.

You deserve nothing and you need to man up.

Yes, the contract covers the cost of the phone AND the network capacity that you can consume. (This always costs more than the sim-free phone in total)
Congratulations, I've already mentioned that.
And yet you think that this should not apply to me?

I deserve fair treatment, as does everyone. ( You, however, deserve a slap in the face)

And I do believe I only picked a fight with one person despite my few posts.

I can only apologise that I found this forum interesting and decided to contribute my opinion.

right, so why are you crying that the price has been dropped on a product you never bought? (a contract which subsidises the phone, not a phone on its own - two different things).

And yet you think that this should not apply to me?

No, because one's a tablet and one's a phone.

I deserve fair treatment, as does everyone. ( You, however, deserve a slap in the face)

for telling you like it is? what, you dont like that? I hate this term i really do, but butthurt much? and you think I need the slap? Look, if you think you're being done over, take the phones back like you said you would. Or has that changed as well now?

I got an order in in the brief time where it was possible to get a sim free one from CPW. It should be delivered by this afternoon.

HOWEVER, I received a phone call last night saying that the price is unlikely to drop and if it does they will not refund the difference....

Because there is a 14 day cool off period I am taking the delivery and will see how the situation develops.

You knew pretty much from the off that even *if* the price dropped on the sim-free phone that you wouldnt be refunded....and you are dragging this out why? They are not treating you unfairly when you bought the phones at the original price. In doing so, you agreed to that price. end of story. Send them back or stop moaning.
