Just set up our new printer and under settings there's an option that when selected will allow it to be printed double sided. Thing is this is on or off all the time.
What would be usefull would be some prompt when printing asking if I would like to print double sided or not.

Anybody know if such a peice of extra software exists?

For default preferences, select the one you will use most frequently. Then, when submitting your print job, go to options and deselect it. Requires 3 extra clicks when hitting File > Print.

I suppose that's the best way. The only option for double sided though is "manual" so left it on automatic.
Was going to start moaning about resources hogging and the HP software that insists on running all the time. But it's 1% on desktop, with nothing open or happening, and with chrome open it's the standard "24%" so guessing before on desktop it might have been say 20.2% HP say uses 0.4% so system rounds up the 20.6% upto 21%....but that's just pure guess work and has nothing to back up my thinking.

Do you know if the HP Solution Centre needs to run all the time anyway? I'm sure my old epson monitoring system, used to do it due to printer hardly ever being plugged in I stop it. I just can't remember what happened when it came to printing.

Only way to override it is going into printer preferences, which may change the settings permantly.

Doesn't really bother, print like once a month, so doesn't bother me. Just would've been a nice wee option.
