TBH just call their business warranty / support line and don't mention you pulled the power lead, simply say failed bios update. Their turn around is pretty good and the business support will get back to you sharpish.
 
You can restore this if you can enter the UEFI mode, take a look on the download page of the 4320 for the uefi boot disk options. You will need to do this on another PC. It creates a USB stick for you and you can add an older version of BIOS to downgrade, this is assuming you can boot from a device.
 
thanks for the replies, HP want £462 to repair it as it's out of warranty will look into the UEFI but the laptop runs linux so I believe this will no longer be on the disk as all previous partions have been removed.

£299's a great price could use the current one as spares - though I think i'd go back to lenovo/thinkpad if I get another.

I'll see what i can do with a usb pen drive :)
