I'm looking to play with 802.1X for wired ethernet on my home network. I already have PEAP working with a RADIUS server on my wireless, so just need to figure out how to get the switch to handle it as well.

However, I can't seem to find anywhere saying whether my 1800-8G supports 802.1X - if it doesn't, is it a no-go?

I haven't played around with the 1800's but I know on HP switches that if you enter the config mode (conf t) and then try aaa authentication ...
if it recognises the command you have a chance, though I think that with the 1800's you would be lucky as they have a very basic feature set..

Just checked http://h20195.www2.hp.com/PDF/4AA1-2359EEE.pdf
I dont think they do tbh..
Without a command line, I dont know how you could frig it to work..
