Ive just inherited a "HP ProLiant ML310 G5" and trying to install Server 2008R2 on it now Its stopping me from installing as its not detecting any drives. So when I go to add a driver Ive downloaded all that I could find and they either dont display or it finds the driver and "installs" but doesn't see the drive. So Im not sure if its picking the wrong driver or that theres something wrong with the sata controller to enable the drive for 2008R2 to pickup, either way its a Intel 82801GR Controller Card. (just has 1 hdd in and it does work also its blanked"

Ive tried all the ones suggested from HP:
Link 1
Link 2

And the Ones from Intel:
Intel Link 1
Intel Link 2

any Ideas ?

thanks

2008 x64 and 2008 R2 x64 do sometimes differ in drivers. You could try looking for Windows 7 X64 drivers. They work with 2008 R2.

It may also be worth getting the smart start CD and using that as it does all the drivers stuff for you.

is it possible to download the smart start cd as an ISO ? and Ill give the win 7 drivers a blast thanks :)

UPDATE:

There isn't any Win 7 x64 drivers on the HP site and the intel drivers are for both 7 + 2008R2

HP Link

Ive seen the start smart CD and Ill give that a go ty again
