HP RAM not compatible or dead?

I just got hold of a load of RAM.

They are 2GB Sticks, and I have got 8 sticks

The snag is that NONE of them will work in any of my boards.

I can only think of 2 possible reasons and that is that they are either incompatible with my boards, or that every stick has the exact same error?

Can anyone advise their expertise?

They are Samsung PC2 6400

Other markings on them are :-

2GB 1Rx4 PC2-6400P - 555 - 12 - H3

M393T5660QZA - CE7Q0 1002

There is a second label thats obviously HP's own

Security ID 56BYNX9

CT: RAKUNA7THYH02H
PN: 499276-001
Replace with spare part # 501157-001

Are your boards/CPU's IMCs compatible with registered memory?
Most normal boards/CPUs won't be.
It'd be catastrophically unlikely to have 8 dead sticks.

No, they are not... Not to my knowledge anyway?

However, I was under the impression that this RAM was bog-standard PC6400 DDR2 RAM and thats what is a bugging me.

I can of course get a refund, thats not the problem, but Id rather use it you know...

Looks like registered memory to me, if you search the part number it's shown as ECC Registered.
Looks like that's the problem here.
