I have been asked to try and help fix a problem with a computer at my friends work. They had a power cut during the night and come in to their storage server being off (no serge protection or backup power). When they boot the server up they get this screen..
It turns out the CPU fan no longer spins up on boot, but the rear case fan does. There is a orange led indicating the fan fault. CPU and exhaust fan are the same, so I swapped the rear exhaust fan and plugged it into the CPU header, and still get this error.
I'm guessing it needs 2 working fans to boot?
I can't find any 6 pin fans anywhere. It's a straight 6 pin (1 x 6 pins) but only uses the middle 4 pins (the outside pins aren't wired up).
Any ideas?
