HP Server for Bighand software?

Can anyone recommend the cheapest HP server that would meet the following requirements:

Processor: Minimum: Pentium IV; Recommended: Dual Xeon 3.6GHz 800MHz FSB or
higher
Memory (RAM): Minimum: 1 GB Recommended: 2 GB
Storage requirement: Minimum: 200 MB*
Operating System: Minimum: Windows Server 2000; Recommended: Windows Server 2003,
Windows Server 2008 (64 bit versions supported)†
.NET Framework: Minimum: None (Depends on whether other BigHand components are colocated)
Connection info: TCP/IP Ethernet. Recommended: 1 Gbps

They recommend at least a 3ghz processor. Just want to do this as cheaply as possible. The server will not be doing anything else.

"as cheaply as possible" is no way to do any IT job in business, if you cant do it properly then dont bother at all

How many users will be using it?

That seems like an awful lot of CPU power for Bighand...

When I say cheap I mean less than about 2k.

There are only about 15-20 users.

£2k isnt as cheaply as possible

- that would be a £300 tower server!

Dl380 G6 should fit the bill nicely

That spec is overkill, but as usual get the best that you can afford

The 3.6GHz is possibly a reference from the Pentium 4 days of old. That means something like a Core 2 Xeon @ 2GHz would more than suffice.

I've no experience on 'Bighand' so couldn't comment if the spec is appropriate. However, a 3.6GHz P4 is dog slow compared to any current c2d so something recommended for the old spec, I'd have no problem using the server you've posted

For info we have just had BigHand installed for approx 10 users and it is running on Hyper-V R2, from memory it has 1 CPU and 2GB RAM and a 40GB disk (from SAN).
