HP soundcard/headphone problem

hi guys

i have an old skool hp compaq nc6000, ploblem i've got is that when i plug in headphones it still plays through the laptop speakers aswell, i can't find any settings to change it it means i can use the laptop at night or watch porn on it can anyone help?

yeh i get sound through the headphones and speakers
