HP Spectre x360

I bought myself a HP 360 laptop a couple weeks ago for £540. Pretty impressed with mine so far.

Spec on mine was, i5 5200u, 8gb ram, 13.3" 1080p IPS touch screen, 128gb ssd and B&O.

Battery life in flight mode is easily 10 hours just word processing too.

I'm considering the exact same laptop, did HP offer an explanation? which colour combination were you after?

Yeah, so basically it turns out that there was a manufacturing error and they made all of them in the copper and brownish finish. The 13-4106na was meant to be all silver and the 13-4109na the copper brownish one. If you look on the HP website now, both models have identical photos (it was updated the night I raised the issue) and are the same apart from the model number printed on them.

HP do not know if they will even bother making the silver ones, and if they do it could take up to 8 weeks to have stock. I am keeping the current one, and if/when they do have stock they are going to swap it round. In the mean time I got an external DVDRW as a "gesture of goodwill".

When I first powered on the laptop, I noticed a green stuck pixel one third from the left of the screen. Replacement laptop is being delivered on Monday and DPD are picking up the current one at the same time.

Personally I think the new colour looks rather amazing. How is it in person compared to marketing images? Glad to see HP tried to look after you, a long way from the support I received in the US. I bought one of these directly from HP; only to be messed around for weeks with countless broken promises, hours and hours of phone calls before eventually leaving the country without the laptop being delivered, out of pocket and with a refund still pending.

Ouch, that sucks mate. Hope you get the money refunded soon.

The brown colour is alright, as are the copper hinges, but the bright shiny copper sides is a little too much for me. However, everyone at work and even the girlfriend love it, so it could just be me.

It wasn't a pleasant experience, it was actually back around Easter. Fortunately, I was able to nominate a US bank account to receive the funds to although they are still sitting in that account.

If you have had a chance in the week you have had it to evaluate; how are the graphics capabilities with the new HD Graphics 520 - suitable for CS:GO, Diablo III, WoW, maybe even Skyrim (sans mods)? Are the 12.5 hour battery life claims realistic even with the QHD display, Does the display still double as a mirror or have they managed to reduce the glare from the 1st edition?

I'm not really a gamer so won't really be able to comment on the graphics, but I will be able to comment on battery life. The screen is nice, but it still is a mirror. When trying to take a photo of the dead pixel, I kept having to move around to avoid getting myself in the photo.

Hope youre not trying to send it back for a dead pixel?

I used to work for HP and they were a pain in the backside for dead pixels.

I am, was raised on Thursday just gone with them and new laptop sent out Friday for delivery on Monday. DPD collection of current one also scheduled for Monday.

I guess they are bending over backwards for me at the moment due to their screw up in manufacturing.

Oh wow. I remember their policy used to be more than 4 dead pixels in a 1cm circle before they replaced it.

Things have changed.

I think that that still stands... they are being really nice to me because I raised the issue with the manufacturing error to their CEO and took it to Twitter lol :D

bad publicity on social media definitely seems to be the way to go these days haha.

It definitely does... they initially offered me a "premium" leather pouch to keep the copper/brown one, to which I said I already had one. They then offered me a copy of Office which I definitely don't need. Instead I asked for the external DVDRW and they said they cannot give me that. I mentioned Twitter, false advertising and trading standards and within 30 seconds she was placing the order for next day delivery :D
