Hi everyone,

I picked up a HP Stream Notebook (11-d000na) a few days ago for my daughters birthday, she only wants to use the internet really so it seemed a good option, mostly I am happy with it.

So I went through all the setup process and all was fine, I got everything working how it should but then I added all the windows updates to the machine. Since I did this the touchpad/mousepad isn't responsive in any way.

It is not turned off (double click upper right area) and the machine responds and works normally with a USB mouse plugged in. I have looke round the net and it seems a common problem but I couldn't find a relatively easy fix (all drivers are updated) I can't even find the touchpad on the PC, in device manager or anywhere else.

Can anyone please help me to fix this?

So it seems to touch/mousepad works fine prior to the windows boot screen, must be a driver issue?

However as many times as I uninstall and re-install the synaptics pointing device driver it still won't work once windows gets to the log-in screen.

This is incredibly frustrating!
