Hi there ive got a HP W2207h and ive been playing on 1680x1050. Since reading on the internet about my monitor it says its full 1080p, so what i was wondering how to i get it at that resolution and im using a dvi cable to hook it up it doesnt come up with the option to change it to 1080p.

Do i need to have it running using a HDMI cable?

I'm not sure where you read it is has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 because it doesn't. According to the official specifications - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c01182749. I can also see from the image that it is a 16:10 number. So 1680 x 1050 is the native resolution and as high as it will go.

No, DVI and HDMI are indentical in what they support resolution wise. I think you might have made a typo and looked up the wrong monitor? The HP W2207h does run at the native resolution if you're using it with 1680x1050.

oright thanks for clearing that up i think i most prob looked at the wrong monitor.

But the strange thing is when i had my ps3 hooked up it ran at 1080p

but maybe it was lieing.
