Anybody got an HP ZR2740w yet or seen one in the flesh? Thinking of a 27" monitor and this looks like a suitable alternative to the Dell and Hazro models.

Reported to be the best 27" monitor out there right now.

Low input lag, good colors, good uniformity.

Unless you want a glossy screen the HP is an excellent choice.

Trana where are any of those claims backed up? I've not seen any reviews and don't recall even seeing any user tests?

I don't see anything there to say this is "the best 27" monitor out there right now".

There are a few reasonably happy people in the thread you linked but that's about it.

Btw. Why dont you make a review of this model?

And S27A850D?

I'll field that question for him as I'm sure he won't mind. He currently has his hands completely full with other monitors - including the new 22" and 24" HP IPS models. He probably has a better insight into what to expect from the 27" version than most other people who rely on hearsay from YouTube and other forums to form an opinion. He has been wanting to review the S27A850D for quite some time but they don't just magically appear to us reviewers you know. We need to source them from somewhere without having to pay - and Samsung Euro QA labs has only just got this model in for review. I am sure TFT Central will review this in the near future but poor Baddass already has an overwhelming number (at least 4) to review and he is only human.

Well, woman. If you would have known more about HP2740w, U2711H and S27A850D you wouldn't say that. So I suggest you educate yourself before discussing this issue further.

What a pleasant chap you are

I wouldn't know how it would rate in comparison to those monitors.

I merely pointed out that the evidence you supplied to support your statement doesn't do that at all.

A few people saying "I quite like this monitor" doesn't make it "the best 27" monitor out there right now".

Absolutely. I had seen those before but that's why I asked in case I'd missed some big review or some useful tests telling us something about the performance. Nothing so far.

Trana, i have the ZR2740w arriving tomorrow and will have a review done soon which as far as I know will be the first of its kind. Like PCM2 kindly says I have a few on the go (HP ZR2240w, ZR2740w, AOC i2353Fh, Dell U2212HM and soon the HP ZR2440w for those interested) and haven't had chance to sort the Samsung SA850 models yet, mostly because Samsung haven't had them available yet in the uk. Expect reviews as soon as they are though :)

Great! Looking forward to it!

TFTCentral.co.uk is a very good and reliable site.

Excellent. Please let us know when it's finished.

Looking now :). I'm sure I'll drop you a quick link over on my website too.

Edit: There seems to be a broken ad link just at the start of the 'OSD menu' section. Is anybody else getting that too?

Input lag wipes the floor with the Dell, looks like the choice to have when this CRT finally kicks the bucket.

looks like anandtech has done a review, looks good. Can't say I've ever seen UK stock then again ive not looked to hard. Would prefer this over the Harzo if it was a similar price
