Guys,

Anyone reccomend a HPI check company?

Looked at a few but dont want to pay £39.95 for it as i know i can get it cheaper, just cant seem to find any.

Any reccomendations?

whole things a bloody rip off anyway, HPI data is not same as experian and they dont share data. So in effect it could be recorded on one and not the other.

Also, if you dont enter the VIN number you have no come back so make sure you have.

A subject i feel very strongly about.

Bought a car after hpi checking it (came up totally clear). Didn't put in the VIN number as i didn't know it at the time and was too stupid to ask. Without the VIN number included you could lose your car within a week of buying with absolutely no comeback. Certain circumstances meant i was very fortunate!

Having done a LOT of research because of my problems ... some HPI companies (noticably a scottish based one i used) have different law's because they're based in scotland which allow them to get out of paying out in the event of something going wrong anyway. So i'd definately suggest using an extremely mainstream one and always including a VIN number. You think the amount of money your saving buying private instead of from a garage...its better to lose £40 than £5k or whatever.

Better safe than sorry.
