Hi all,

I'm looking at a car tomorrow, but it's a fair distance away. I don't want to travel a 200 mile round trip and find out it's got dodgy history :/

I need to get a HPI check done, but what do I need to know about the car, and can anyone recommend what service to use, i.e is RAC the best etc.

Cheers

Cheers guys.

What info do I actually need to know specific to the car in order to carry the HPI out?

I took this from the RAC website:

Is that all the stuff I need to find out?

Cheers :)

I've emailed the guy asking for all the above. At least that way I can spot any discrepancies before I'm there.

I think you can get a full HPI check just from the VIN no?

You can do an HPI check off the Registration alone.

Edit - vaguely on topic, what happened to the free thing on RAC where you could whack in a reg and it'd tell you what car it was but not much else? I can't see it anywhere :/
