The last I heard, HP were possibly going to spin-off their laptop/desktop side of the business, and stopping their WebOS related stuff (Palm Pre, Touchpads etc).

I can't seem to find any updates/news since this original press release back in August last year - does anyone know if anything has changed since then? Are HP still vaguely looking at spinning off the desktop/laptop side of things?

Reason I ask, is because i'm about to buy HP laptops for the company and i'm sure i'm going to get lots of questions about this!

I thought they are going to turn into a software company a year or so ago. Still, I bought one of there laptops and to this day they seem to be releasing a few new laptops so I doubt they will go any where soon.
