It's very hard to have sympathy with HRT over this. If they are going to subcontract the building of their car it's their responsibility to ensure they have the controls in place to guarantee a quality build. Dallara isn't operating a charity here. I assume that HRT went down this route to save money, and factoring in the missed payments, well, you get what you pay for.

Small fuel tanks at Virgin, supposedly poorly made sub-contracted cars at HRT. :D How did this lot pass the tests and inspections to get into F1? At least Stefan GP would have qualified on the "having an argy bargy with Ferrari" test. :D

Lotus (Malaysia F1) have at least seemed to do a better job of the newcomers. I suppose with having Mike Gascoyne in charge of the techy side of the team has helped Lotus be more prepared and organised. Having two race winners can't hurt either.

I'd say Virgin have been the poorest out of all the new teams. At least HRT have managed to finish on most occasions, Virgin have only managed 1 finish!

Bearded Branson may have put his money on the wrong horse. :D I think Tony Fernandes is safe come the end of the season bet. ;)

Wasn't the bet that the team with the most amount of points?
TBH I can't see either of them scoring any points this season!

Would have thought Lotus are more likely to score points. Having a fuel tank that gets them to the end of the GP gives them the edge in that respect at the moment. :D

I reckon it'll take a catastrophy race where everyone falls off track in order for a new team to snatch some points

They have some big updates coming - should be interesting to see their performance difference to the mid pack. The new teams should be able to find a few seconds "quite" easily I would think - it will be the last couple of seconds which are the hardest to find.

Lotus have coming a big pile of updates.
Carbon suspension, j-damper, new floor, rear wing, front wing, bodywork, diffuser, new hydraulics, as well as possibly a cooling system revamp as they are massively over cooled

They are expecting 1.5 to 2 seconds improvement.

Maybe they should build their own next time then ;)

Very impressed with Lotus.

Out of all the new teams they have shown the most promise and with the substantial list of updates on its way for Barcelona I believe they will be the only one of the new teams to be able to pick up points during the season. The car in its current form looks more "basic" in terms of design than either the HRT or Virgin and would appear to be quicker than either.

or maybe they should pay on the deadlinds so work isnt suspended every month and then rushed to get a chasis at the end.

you cant really blame dallara when payments werent beend recieved by them and they didnt know wether or not they ever would be
