HSBC Current Account Limit

I have a post student HSBC current account. What is my limit for a purchase using the maestro debit card? I have looked on their website but cant find it? Will I be ok for a circa £300 payment in a shop?

Surely as long as there is enough money in the account there is no limit? If its a large amount it may have to be authorised but that only takes a minute.

I bought my Audi on my Maestro debit card.

There's no limit (well your available balance) on transitions apart from cash machines

Yep, to expand a little on my short first post, as long as you have the money you'll be fine. Limits are only used withdrawing cash from an ATM.

You may have to go through voice authorisation, but it depends on the type of shop you are in. Different types of shops have different limits before voice authorisation is triggered, but staff should know what to do if it happens.

Give them a quick call if the purchase is over £1000, lets them know what is happening. HSBC are very good with such things
