I and the wife have each had a text to say there has been some payments going from our bank accounts -

I have listed it as spam but has anyone else had one. ?

Tens of thousands of people have had them, I've had a couple in the last week. They spoof the numbers they come from so blocking the number is a waste of effort really. Delete and immediately forget about it.

Get messages like these regularly from banks I've never held accounts with.
My current email address has been fairly untouched by spam, but literally half an hour ago I got a threat email demanding BTC or post videos of me masturbating to porn sites. Little do they know I post these myself...!:p

do people not iwth HSBC get the text? or is this from a leak somewhere

I had one ostensibly from HSBC, and I bank with Santander, initially I thought that it was for my wife, who does bank with HSBC, but it was in an email addressed Dear Jean-François, it was deleted, double quick.

Had a call earlier, a new one (for me), was a recorded message, womans voice, some security, saying about 2 transactions made on card yesterday, one for Amazon at £400, and another one for something else, said to press 1 to authorise them, or 2 to cancel them.

I just hung up and checked my accounts online (just to be sure), and yup, as expected, all fine, so blocked the number. :p

Got to get up a lot earlier than that to catch me out, mind you, i bet its caught quite a few out.

I was on PAYG Orange for 20 yrs with no spam what so ever - Since I have reviewed my BT package and more or less ditched the landline and got two sim cards for me and wife I have had quite a lot of spam calls and text - after a few weeks it was obvious they were spam (land line included) I do as above and mark as spam - after a bit it drops off then the second round starts.

I got an orange simcard payg now with EE seems they took them over that I keep active by sending a text every few months and the only spam I get is Virgin media my ISP and EE telling me about offers.

my contract phone gets spam

I occasionally get ones alleging to be from HSBC (and only HSBC). Never had an account with them - easy block.
